Can I get some advice?

The Decemberists with a symphony orchestra,

OR

HRC True Colors tour with the Dresden Dolls, Rufus Wainwright, Margaret Cho, and others.

Damn that's hard. My vote is for the Decemberists because I like them better.

I love the Decemberists and don't have any of their music. And my former roomie (*tear*) saw Ben Folds with a symphony orchestra and said it was amazing, so it could be really really cool.

And I vote for the others, because, um, Rufus Wainwright. And the Dresden Dolls in principle, though I don't like them quite as much in practice as in theory. And Margaret Cho. I don't know who HRC is though.

The Human Rights Campaign. The tour is a benefit for the queermos. <3

HAHA I THOUGHT IT WAS A BAND. in that case i support it even more.

Have you seen the Dresden Dolls then? Any show that has been theoretically available for me to go to was 21+. I've seen some of their videos... My instinct would be that such a big-name show would be in a big-time venue, and that the Dresden Dolls would necessarily be more of a small venue experience. So I really want to see them but would it be better to wait?

And Bas already explained HRC, heh. :)

RUFUS. ALWAYS RUFUS.

I don't care if your other choice is to meet Jesus.

THE CORRECT ANSWER IS ALWAYS RUFUS.

Hahaha, Bas, I love you. <3 So true.

The little stuffed dog that travels everywhere with me is named Rufus.

I'd go with true colors. Dresden Dolls and Margaret Cho ftw. I've also been wanting to go but my chances are slim, so i'll live the experience vicariously though you ^_^

Yeah, I've been excited about it since we saw the billboards in Vegas. I love the Decemberists and with the symphony would be awesome, but I'm thinking the other one makes more sense.

where are you going to see it? having sought ought the website of this tour, i MIGHT be going in San Francisco. i mean, awesome.

Would be in Georgia as I would be visiting Trin. The timing of the shows is going to end up being more significant than which one I would rather see. 'Cause the Decemberists is in over a month, which is too long to wait, but we agreed that I would visit first because she's been here twice and I still haven't met some of her family--so True Colors is sooner but it's also during Pride so we would likely end up doing lots of Pride things when the purpose of the visit is to spend time around her family.

And my parents are crazy.

totally the second.

[identity profile] powdermonkey.livejournal.com 2007-05-28 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
ouch.

i'd say the second BUT.. the one time i missed a band playing with a symphony orchestra, i heard people raving about it for weeks and highly regretted it.
