Holiday giving-type meme: I’m all for it. Here’s the cut and paste (from Essin' Em):

Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered…whatever you’re comfortable with) to your LJ or Myspace or Blog. The important thing is to make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it’s your address or just an email address at which you can be contacted by potential wish-grantors, real or imaginary.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your post, so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
- Surf around your friends list/blogroll/RSS feeds (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list.
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it’s in your heart to do so, make someone’s wish come true. Sometimes someone’s trash is another’s treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don’t want or a gift certificate you won’t use–or even know where you could get someone’s dream purebred Basset Hound for free–do it.

You needn’t spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn’t to put people out, it’s to provide everyone a chance to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not–it’s your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just…wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you’ll have the joy of knowing you made someone’s holiday special.

Put up your own list and I'll see what I can do (comment here with it if you want to make sure I see it). If you can hook me up with any of these things, comment here or contact me through email. I will love you forever.

1. A Utilikilt. Or something similar from another brand, that's just the one I'm familiar with.

2. An iPod touch or iPhone. I have a 2005 video iPod and a cell phone that calls and texts, with a lot of weird workarounds for doing things like posting pictures and carrying my calendar. If I could have it all in one device, or at least have a more sophisticated iPod that does most things besides calls, it would make my life so much easier.

3. Snow Leopard with iLife & iWork '09. I have a 2006 MacbookPro with Leopard on it now. Thanks to my parents.

4. Mac-compatible external hard-drive. At least 100GB; I need something to keep my music on because it is filling up my main hard-drive and the external HDs I already have are full of other things.

5. A Time Capsule. Again with the "filling up my hard-drives" issue, I don't have an external with enough storage for the backup Time Machine wants to create, so I can't use it.

6. A men's suit. I refuse to wear a women's suit any longer, but I don't know how to find or size a men's suit that doesn't look huge on me. I'd like one that I can wear with or without binding; I don't necessarily expect to pass, I'd just like to have something formal enough to wear to interviews that I can actually feel comfortable in.

7. Doctor Who and Torchwood DVD box sets. Fell in love with these series during the last month and I'd love to have them sitting shiny on my shelf where I could watch them whenever I needed a boost (even when it makes me cry).

8. A pair of good sandals, men's 9 (ish). I prefer men's, but women's would be acceptable if they're not too frilly. They need an ankle-strap so they stay on my feet, and good arch support.

9. A pair of plastic sandals to replace my broken Adidas pair. These were the best casual sandals I have ever worn but they are now held together with blue electrical tape and I haven't been able to find another acceptable pair in the 9 years since I bought them. They have one broad velcro strap, and smooth contours for my feet with no nubs on the sole, and say 9F on the bottom. Prefer dark colors.

10. A pair of dressy boots that don't hurt my feet, women's 10-11. The ones I have are all too casual or hurt my feet. Thicker heel under two inches preferably, height somewhere between ankle and knee. "Granny," "witch," or "pirate" boots welcome, as are straps, buckles, laces, and/or platforms; black, grey, darker browns, or darker reds preferred, but I'm open to more exciting colors as well.

11. A pair of black women's dress shoes that don't hurt my feet, size 10-11. I've had to buy a lot of black closed-toed dress shoes for choir over the years, and most have been serviceable but not wowed me. I have a lot of cute dresses, skirts, and stockings that I would love to wear more often but have no appropriate & comfortable shoes to wear with them.

12. The Sims 2 or 3 for Mac. I loved playing the original and I've been lusting after the sequel for years, and now there's another one out.

13. Windows PC-compatible computer monitor. I have the CPU for a Windows desktop computer from high school that I'd like to get more use out of (I miss playing Ragnarok Online and the original Sims, for example), but no monitor to use it with. I don't have space for a CRT monitor, so some kind of flat screen would be nice.

14. Apple LED display. I <3 my MacbookPro, but it would be really great to be able to watch movies, play games, make art, and edit film on a nice bigger screen, and make use of more canvas space.

15. A way to go to Seattle for SummerStar, July 13-20, 2010. A bunch of friends are gathering for the festival itself (July 15-19) and a few days on either side. It's the third time this gathering has happened, and I missed it the earlier times. It'll be one of the only opportunities I have for seeing these friends as we are mostly distant from each other. Any of airfare round-trip from BWI to SeaTac and admission to the festival would be appreciated.

16. A way to go to Fires of Venus or Sacred Sexuality Beltaine. I've heard a lot of cool things about Free spirit Gathering and would love to attend one of their events.

17. A way to go to Dark Odyssey Summer Camp or Winter Fire. I've heard great things about these two events as well and want to check them out.

18. Yarn. I want to do more knitting and learn how to crochet, but I am running on a nearly empty stash.

19. A massage. I had a professional one for the first time last year and it was really awesome. Wouldn't have to be professional, even a proper massage from a handy friend would do wonders for my tension level.

20. A decent USB microphone or headset. Right now I'm working off the built-in mic in the MacbookPro, which is functional but I would love to have a better one for podcasting.

21. A video camera. My current options are the video function on my digital camera, or recording directly to iMovie on the laptop with iSight. Something more sophisticated and portable would expand my options considerably. I am now the proud owner of a Flip video camera. :D

22. A homework top. I need someone I'm not romantically involved with to help me keep track of homework, organization, and time management so I can learn to do it on my own. My self-motivation is seriously lacking and trying to do this with romantic partners has put too much of a strain on those relationships in the past. I don't have an ADHD diagnosis but substantially function on that level, which can be a factor. Need to learn how to be responsible adult with strong executive functioning; plz halp.

23. A red coat something like the one Matthew Bellamy wears in this video (he's the singer if you're not familiar with Muse). Or a good trench coat, leather optional but would be fun. Or a coat like Captain Jack Harkness wears.

24. Seeing Amanda Palmer or the Dresden Dolls in concert. Anywhere. I have been trying for years and it never works out.

25. A quality red wig reminiscent of Tori Amos. I will supply photographic evidence of the drag show I wear it in.
